Service duration varies by the work required. Lume renewal typically completes within one to two weeks. Caliber servicing requires three to four weeks for thorough assessment and observation. Complete restorations may span six to twelve weeks, as these timepieces often need patient, staged intervention. We provide estimates after initial evaluation and keep you informed throughout the process.

We examine the watch visually and mechanically, noting its current condition, any concerns, and potential service needs. This evaluation helps us understand what the timepiece requires and allows us to discuss options with you. The evaluation itself takes about 30 minutes in person, or slightly longer if the watch is sent to us. There is no charge for this initial assessment.

Yes, we work with vintage and less common movements regularly. These often require more careful study and occasionally specialized parts sourcing, but we approach them with the same patience as any other service. If a timepiece presents challenges beyond our current capabilities, we will communicate this honestly rather than proceeding uncertainly.

Cosmetic work is discussed with the owner before proceeding. Some prefer to preserve all original patina and wear, while others wish for selective restoration. We present options, explain implications of each approach, and proceed only with clear understanding and agreement. The watch belongs to you, and decisions about its appearance should reflect your preference.

Service costs include all standard labor, cleaning, lubrication, regulation, case sealing, and basic documentation. If specialized parts are needed beyond standard gaskets and basic components, these are discussed separately. We provide a clear estimate before beginning work and contact you if unforeseen needs arise during service.

After service, your watch should keep time reliably within its design specifications. We recommend avoiding magnetic fields, extreme temperature changes, and unnecessary shocks. Regular wearing is generally better than long periods of storage. Water resistance should be tested annually if the watch is used in wet conditions. We provide specific guidance based on your particular timepiece when it is returned.
